IND-W vs ZIM-W 1st T20I Live Score: The India women’s cricket team will kickstart a new era under skipper Smriti Mandhana when they take on Zimbabwe in the first of three T20Is in Raipur on Friday.
This series will be Mandhana’s first since taking over as permanent India skipper from Harmanpreet Kaur earlier in October. Despite stepping down as captain, Harmanpreet will continue playing for India. The Punjab cricketer recently led India to a second consecutive gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
This won’t be the first time Mandhana will be captaining India in T20Is. She first led India in a T20I against England in 2019 when Harmanpreet was ruled out due to an injury. Overall, Mandhana has led India in 18 T20Is, with India winning 11 and losing six. One match has ended in a no-result.
Barring the injured Jemimah Rodrigues, India boast of a full-fledged side featuring Mandhana, Harmanpreet, Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma. The squad also features a young uncapped batter in Niki Prasad. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will be led by Josephine Nkomo, who only took over as the new captain in July.
