India’s Tribunal Reforms Bill doesn’t go far enough to resolve what troubles its quasi-judicial system

But some sticking points remain. The government’s decision to introduce the 2026 Bill, investing the NTC with a modicum of autonomy, came only after it was upbraided by the Supreme Court, with the bench calling out the executive for trying to intrude into judicial areas.
