For generations of Chennai residents, Gatsby Collection has been a go-to destination for tailored suits and fine fabrics. Now, with its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Quiet Attraction, and festive collection, Borrowed Light, creative director Heeba Sait brings a contemporary take to menswear and womenswear, exploring the theme of the attraction between two individuals and the warmth of celebrations during festivals.

With Quiet Attraction, Heeba wanted to explore the laws of attraction between two forces, people, and even the universe. The collection unfolds through three phases – polar, shift, and equilibrium, tracing the journey from the initial pull between two people to a relationship that settles into balance. “When two people have just met and are trying to get to know one another, there is a certain draw, a gravity pulling them towards each other. That is the polar phase,” she says.
In the collection, the one-piece collar jacket is among the standouts in menswear. The collar and the shoulders form a continuous construction, without a separate break between the two. Heeba describes it as a “fresh take on a traditional jacket”. The collection also features streamlined jackets with exaggerated sleeve details, structured suits and reversible jackets.

For womenswear, Heeba has experimented with sculpted jackets and tailored trousers with intricate detailing. One of the highlights is a pair of trousers with a waistband that transforms from a cummerbund into a sash with fringe. Another highlight from the collection for women is a one-piece stand-collar tuxedo shirt, paired with corset-inspired high-waisted wide-leg trousers.
The collection also features a sari fall-inspired, hand-dyed Fuji silk off-shoulder corset with a single sleeve, paired with embroidered barrel-leg trousers. The collection uses worsted wool for suiting, jaquard, and silks, and cotton velvet for the evening wear.
Hand-embroidered

The festive collection, Borrowed Light, features cutwork jackets, sheer overlays, foil-printed jumpsuits, and embroidered jackets. Organza, raw silk, jacquard, and sustainable lotus silk form the base of the collection. “Everything is hand-embroidered. There is no machine embroidery being used anywhere,” says Heeba.

One of the highlights is the trousers that are a take on dhoti pants. Heeba wanted to develop an alternative that retained the fluidity of draping without moving away from the brand’s tailoring-led aesthetic. “I wanted a skirt and a pant. How can I stay true to my identity but develop something that is still feminine?” she says. The result is a silhouette that brings together the two forms in a single garment, paired with corsets, bustiers, and structured jackets.
Both collections offer two interpretations of modern dressing, from everyday formalwear to festive occasions.
Collection is available at Gatsby Collection, Khader Nawaz Khan Road and online at gatsby.in. Priced ₹30,000 onwards.
