‘Mirzapur The Movie’ teaser: Divyenndu, Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi’s return to blood-soaked saga

The much-awaited trailer of Mirzapur The Moviewas unveiled by the makers on Thursday (June 25, 2026). It is helmed by Gurmmeet Singh, who served as one of the directors for the three seasons of the Prime Video show.

The film is set in 2018 during the events of the first season of the series. It stars Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles.

The teaser gives an introduction to the film, featuring a host of old and new characters. Plot details remain undisclosed as the clip mainly features action packed visuals from the world of Mirzapur, known for its violent and edgy sequences. It marks the return of Munna (Divyenndu) in the timeline after his much discussed death in the second season of the show.

Another change is seen in the character of Guddu’s brother, Bablu, which was played by Vikrant Massey in the show, who is replaced by Jitendra in the film. Ravi plays an antagonistic character, who is shown to be torturing a man in a scene. Mirzapur The Movie promises to take the legacy of the crime-thriller series onto the big screen, featuring the trademark dark humour and gritty action.

As per a log line shared by the makers, “Mirzapur The Movie brings the world of power, revenge, and survival to the big screen, as the battle for the throne of Mirzapur reaches a whole new scale.”

Written by Puneet Krishna, the film has been shot by Sanjay Kapoor and edited by Manan Ashwin Mehta. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the film will be released in theatres on September 4.
