‘Raakh’ trailer: Ali Fazal is a rookie cop investigating heinous murders in this crime thriller

The trailer of Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre’s upcoming crime thriller show, Raakh was unveiled by the makers on Monday (June 1, 2026).

Directed by Prosit Roy, who helmed the season 1 of Paatal Lok, the series also stars Aamir Bashir, Akash Makhija, Ramandeep Yadav, Divya Sharma, Vivaan Sharma, Anshul Chauhan, Rakesh Bedi, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles. It is created, co-directed and written by Anusha Nandakumar with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi.

The trailer introduces the grim world of the show, which is set in 1970s Delhi. Heinous crimes rock the city as children are kidnapped and sub-inspector Jayprakash (Fazal) is put on the case. Sonali plays the mother of a victim and seeks justice. Jayprakash seems to share a conflicted relationship with his father, played by Rakesh Bedi, as the two are seen arguing about handling the case. The series promises to be an atmospheric crime thriller, exploring the darker sides of human psyches.

Speaking about the series, Fazal said in a statement, “When I was first approached for Raakh, I expected it to be a conventional investigative crime thriller, but the moment I read the script, I was drawn in. Anusha, Sandeep and Prosit have woven a story that is layered, emotionally intense, and packed with gritty realism.”

Sonali added, “The series gave me the opportunity to explore emotional spaces I hadn’t tapped into before as an actor. Mona is a character who carries both vulnerability and quiet strength, and portraying her was incredibly rewarding. Working with Prosit, Anusha and Sandeep was a joy, and I’m grateful for the sensitivity and honesty they brought to the storytelling.”

Produced under the banner of Endemol Shine India, in association with BhaDiPa, Raakh will be released on Prime Video on June 12.
